Lauren and I got a chance to actually be home this weekend and not only spend some time with family but also close friends too. The weather couldnt've been nicer here in So Cal and well according to Lauren, the only thing that would've made this weekend even more relaxing would've been a pool in our backyard...something to do with weightlessness in water and feeling uber good on her back...but what do i know ;)
So for the past few weeks, Lauren and I have been talking about doing a shoot featuring the lovely lady I call my wife (that's Lauren btw) and her newly acquired bodily figure which is all due to our baby =) I've thought long and hard about how to approach this shoot because well, this is my wife we're talking about and if these pics don't turn out favorably in her eyes, and then somehow get posted for the world to see...um, hellooo couch! So, finally with some inpiration, it came.

A Chinese Tea Ceremony, a traditional White Dress in a Church ceremony and a 400 person Wedding Reception...ALL in one day! Talk about an action packed Saturday! =) Oh and dd I mention a trip to Universal Studios?!?!....yeah that was part of our weekend too =)
So in trying not to give away too much of the days events, as usual, here's a sneak peak of our last wedding this past weekend!

This past weekend, we finally got a chance to shoot our good friends Valerie+Jason. They're our super cool friends that got married this past June in Wisconson. We were originally going to shoot their Engagement pictures for them but planning a wedding while being 2000 miles away from where you're having it is no easy task. Needless to say, we couldn't find time to do it.So being that we didn't get to shoot their Engagement images or even make it to their Wedding (which we were totally bummed about btw), we thought it would be a great idea instead, to shoot them fully decked out, Wedding Dress, Suit and all when they got back. And are we glad we did =)
Val wore this beautiful vintage looking dress with so much detail...I had to capture it.
Being that we weren't so pressed on time like we would a normal Wedding day, we decided to come decked out ourselves and bring our lighting gear. My hope for the shoot was to walk away with a shot...or two that looks like something that would be in a Wedding magazine. Do you think we got it?!
Being super exhausted from the day's activities I wasn't planning on editing right away but seriously, I couldn't resist! After seeing how a few of them turned out I ended staying up till 2am editing everything!! I can't tell you how excited I was with how everything turned out but seriously, how do you not get a good shot with these guys?!
Finally, I decided to put together a really quick slideshow of our day. So enjoy!

Crazy week and our poor blog and our blog readers have been the ones thing affected the most!!
So yesterday, I looked out the window and noticed that the sky was once again, 1 million and one colors. So what do I do? I grab my camera, one flash that's already mounted on a stand, my cybersyncs of course, and my lovely, still in her work clothes, eating grapes out of a bowl, wife...Lauren =)
Picture this... a man lying in the middle of the street with this huge camera pointed at his pregnant wife, who by the way is also standing in the middle of the street with a tripod looking thing about 5-8 feet away, that keeps flashing every 10-15 secs...yeah that was us.

I know, I still haven't posted on Apeerture but trust me, I'll get there.
I wanted to share with you a few more pics from our shoot last Saturday with Loyd from Red5Studios so here you go...
Loyd has this new toy that I'm not too sure what exactly it's called (Glide Cam maybe?) but I think he got it from the Dark Knight himself...that thing is intense!
What I love about the shot to the left is how it's framed. You don't see his face but what you do see is his awesome Ghost Busters shirt instead. Btw - he's holding most of, if not all, the movies he's done with his Brides and Grooms.
What I wanted to capture in this shot is that "Forbes Magazine" look...you know that, "I'm standing in front of this tall building because I own it" look? =) haha Of course, we couldn't hold in how funny that idea really was...
And for my last show+tell, I had to throw in one of his Light Saber shots. That thing was SAH-WEET! =) The way it recorded in the camera was awesome! Oh and if the last pic from yesterdays post didn't clue you in...yeah, Loyd is a MAJOR Star Wars fan.

The shoot was really fun, but really weird to be on the other side of the camera, by myself at that! But I'm so glad he forced me to do it.
I've been wanting to use my umbrella for a shoot for so long! I've had it almost a year and so glad we did.
And I so didn't know orange was my color! heh. I think preggo shoots are Jp's thing so call or email us if you are interested in a shoot so we can pencil it in! It was so fun... maybe cause it was my husband. :)
