We really couldn't believe it when we heard the news but long story short, remember Darcy and JJ's wedding?  Well their wedding got selected to be featured in the Spring/Summer Edition of Exquisite Wedding Magazine!  And the coolest part, although it's not up yet, is that because we were one of their favorite vendors, there's going to be a little section about Lauren and I on the web version of their magazine check it out here.  In case you were wondering, you can find this magazine at your local Barnes and Nobles, Borders or newsstand. Ever have something good/amazing happen to you and all you can say is "really?!".  Well, this is DEFINITELY one of those things!!  God seriously continues to amaze us and we couldn't be more thankful =) Here are some shots that we took of the actual magazine... and in case you go to check it out for yourself...it starts on page 66!! WOW, talk about EXCITING NEWS!! As I was checking on the results of the WedComp 2008 International Wedding  Images Competiion, my jaw dropped in astonishment when I saw that one of our images place 15th in the Ceremony category of the competition!!

Here's a quick description about the competition... "WedComp is a wedding photography competition open to any wedding photographer in the world with no restrictions as to style, approach or post production. The competition is judged by industry leading wedding photographers. The four categories are Getting Ready, Ceremony, Portrait and Reception" Isn't this AWESOME??!!!    To think that its been a year since we've put up blog.johnlauren.com and now we're placed Top 25 in an International Wedding Competition???!!!...we're seriously speechless!  At the same time, this milestone for us is also a testament to the awesome Brides and Grooms that believed in us and our work.  Thank you! =) Just in case you were wondering, the winning image was from Linda+Dennis' wedding that we shot in August 2008.  Thank you Linda and Dennis! Lastly, we have one more big announcement so keep an eye out for it...we're hoping to post it later this week! =)

Ever meet someone for the first time and after chatting it up, it feels like you've known that person for years?!  Well that's exactly how it was when I met Herb a few years back.  Herb actually knew both Lauren and I even before we were dating so that should give you an idea of how much he knows us =)  Long story short, we were super honored and stoked that he asked us to shoot his wedding.  What's crazy was that we didn't get to meet Rachel until the day of the shoot!  Talk about pressure!!  =)  Regardless, they were both awesome in front of our cameras and we had a blast!  And Rachel, you looked great! Here are some of our favorites... When we shoot Engagement Sessions we always ask our couples bring at least one prop...in this case PROP = Marley! =) One of the reasons why we loved this shoot so much was because almost all the images had such a "real" feeling to it.  John and I were ssooo excited to shoot with Karen + Joe. From the first time we met them, we knew we were a match made in Starbucks... or in heaven! She is all things handmade and He is all things Twilight... at least according to me and Karen :) but what an awesome recipe for such a cool couple! The session was in Downtown Orange which was totally awesome. We also shot a day early due to weather but was totally cool because we were able to shoot literally until there was no sun left. With hair and make-up provided... props were ready to go and we were off to start shooting! What Downtown Orange is filled with... Vintage Charm with a Modern Mix! Did I mention she was all things handmade Isn't this just so sexy!!! I love it! But my favorite shot of the day... Super Spicy!
