From what we heard, over 500 people showed up to this sold out event so that meant that over 500 people were going to see first hand who John Lauren was and our work...ALL AT ONCE!!
The event was fun and got some great compliments regarding our work. Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Motion Sickness Productions for putting our video together and for the opportunity to show LA who we are.

Are you available May 21st 2011?! Can you make it out to LA that evening?! If you answered yes to those two questions, awesome...let's hang out! Here's the story...
Our answer?! OF COURSE!!!! ;)
For the weeks to follow we scheduled some time for Motion Sickness to tag along with us for one of our shoots in LA and also a time for individual interviews.
Why not right?! Actually, it felt a bit weird being on the other side of the camera =)
So what's what big news?!!!!
Believe it or not, their short film on us, out of hundreds, maybe thousands, actually got picked as a finalist to be premiered at Sunset Gower Studios on May 21st!!!
That being said, we want to invite EVERYONE in the greater LA area to come out with us and see if Motion Sickness actually wins with their Love Captured short on us!!!!
Just buy tickets at the On Location: The Los Angeles Video Project website. You'll also notice a little trailer. If you can spot the snippet of us in there and describe where we're at let us know in the comments =)

So fiinally after 4 years in the making, we're happy to announce our newly revamped website ...www.johnlauren.com is finally live!. If you ask Lauren, its been waaayy overdue but hey, better late than never =)
::WARNING THE FOLLOWING IS A SMALL RANT::
Let me be the first to say that it's hard, i mean really hard to come to a place where you feel like your own work is worth showcasing and I think that's the reason why it took so long. As a photographer, at least for me, I'm always trying to pursue some sort of perfection in my work but oddly enough, you can't. You're always going to adjust your technique, learn and really exceed the boundaries of creativity...that's what makes this work of photography so amazing. When you look through that viewfinder, it's never the same! But, I believe eventually, even though you should continue to strive to be better than the last time, you do come to a place where you realize that's where you want to be and as you look back on your work, you can actually see it.
Anyway, with that said, I just want to give a quick shout out to our amazing Brides and Grooms and also for our lovely friend (you know who you are!) who so graciously pull our site together =) Also to intothedarkroom for all the support!

In addition to our NEW BLOG which btw has our updated Tweets! (are you following??!!)...
FINALLY!!!! We can officially announce that JOHNLAUREN.COM is live!!!
After over two years (yes, two years!) our website is up and running! We're still making changes so if a few of the links don't work, just know they will soon. We have a TON of images to go through and upload but it'll be complete sooner than later. AANNDDD...
If you haven't noticed already, we also have new logo!!...
After much deliberation, we thought it was time for a new look and feel to our brand. We wanted a logo that was clean, simple, modern and creative. So after many variations, different looks and ideas, this version fit the bill. Part of the challenge was finding a logo that both Lauren and I really liked because just like when we're shooting, there's always different perspectives. But, like always, we found something that works ;)
So, when you have a minute, check out our new site, johnlauren.com and feel free to drop us a comment below to let us know what you think!!
This week we'll also be posting a new wedding slideshow and some other work we've got ready to reveal and not to mention our photos from our NY vaca...so check daily!!

Welcome to our new blog everyone!
We finally got our old posts back up from our old sight but because the old sight was formatted differently, it looks a little funny. It's all good though! We're just happy to have our old posts back online. MUCH KUDOS TO IDTR for getting it all squared away!
In the meantime, spead the word...JOHN LAUREN has a new blog site and we're ready to blow this party out the water with more eyegasmic images!
